Hand-made, wheel thrown ceramic bottle fired in a barrel to create unique markings and colorations and then coated in a thin layer of beeswax.
 
This vase is not suitable for water storage as it is porous and should be kept indoors. Avoid direct sunlight. This specific pottery piece is not food safe, dishwasher safe, or microwave safe. 
 
WHAT DOES BARREL-FIRED MEAN? Barrel firings are similar to raku in that the ceramics are fired in an open flame. Unlike raku, the ceramic pieces are submerged in wood, hay, sand, salt, sawdust, and other elements that help keep the fire stoked as well as provide coloration to the otherwise solid white pottery. The piece was then finished with a coat of locally sourced beeswax.
